Magazine Adverts

Our magazine advertisement was based on the conventions of an RnB advert, we looked at different ways in which Beyonce advertises her albums and from the different albums we looked at, we took the ideas of having the name of the artist in big, bold, black letters in order for it to stand out and in little, italic letters we had the name of the song, the reason for this was because in actual RnB adverts they usually have the artist name in bold to stand out for the audience to see clearly who the artist is.

We also had the release date of the album in big, black bold letters so are audience can know when the album is to be released. The reason for that is because the whole point of the advert is to inform the audience when the album will be out, so having that in bold it will immediately stand out and they will know straight away.

In the different magazine adverts that we looked up, we realised that a lot of them have some kind of critics information. So we decided to add what some critics thought about the album, in order for the audience to know how well it is and if it is worth buying. We had the stars in black because, we wanted them to stand out and went with the colour of the advert. Also because every single magazine advert we looked at had all the stars in black and this is usually the colour of the stars in the music industry.

We decided to have the main singer in the background because after researching a lot of Beyonce's and other RnB singer's  magazine adverts we realised that they usually have the main singer posing on the album, this is one of the most common conventions of  a magazine advert in the genre of RnB.

The colour of the background was that colour because, we wanted to go with the natural, dreamy theme of our music video. But also after looking at many more magazine adverts we decided to do it that colour because most RnB adverts are quite colourful but also simple. We may also change it and mess around with the colour more when it comes to making the advert as this is not the final decision.
