Katy Perry's 'Firework' Video

I don’t think Katy Perry’s ‘firework’ video deserved the best video of the year award because there wasn’t anything really interesting about it. All she is doing in the video is sending out a message to people that they should be more confident, yes it is a good message but, I personally don’t want to listen to a song that kind of makes me feel depressed, there were other music videos that had a more interesting and funny meaning to them. I also don’t think it deserved it because there weren’t any special effects, which actually stood out; it was only fireworks coming out of her chest, that only stood out, but other than that anyone could have made a music video like that as the scenery was quite basic I think. When I listen and watch Music Video’s I kind of like to escaped from reality and not have to think about things that are worrying me, whereas in this song and music video it kind of makes you think about reality and your life which is quite annoying because I myself like to listen to songs where in the video the artist is in some fantasy world, for example ‘in like a hot desert, or somewhere on the beach like in shipwreck island’.

There are other music videos that have this effect, of fantasy, so I think this music video didn’t deserve the award as there is much better out their especially nowadays as technology has improved and the editing is much better than years ago.
