Evaluation Question 7

In this Frame, the left one is from our Prelim task which is a medium shot of our main character. As we liked the idea of this shot we then went on to use it in the Horror Film which you can see on the right hand side of this frame. I think this shot was good to use because you can see the emotions in the characters faces and then can get the idea as to why they are upset as the one on the right is reading a note.

In this Frame , on the left hand side we put our title on a black background in white letters in order for it to stand out and look more realistic. As this was a good idea to have the black background with the writing we wanted to put this in our film but this time we decided to change the letters in order for it to stand out more and it also symbolise blood and gore especially how it is a horror film.

In this Frame, we used an shot reverse shot also know as a over the shoulder shot for the picture on the left.We liked the idea of this as it shows the expression of the characters. But when it came to our film we made it a little bit better, because in the prelim task we wasn't really thinking about how the shots were.

In this Frame the two images are exactly the same and the reason for this was because we loved the idea of this completely because we liked the idea of the camera following the characters from behind so the audience can get some idea of there body language.

The reason why I think this viewer will be attracted to this film is because they are a typical teenage boy around 18, who is up for a laugh and doesnt sound fearful of anything also it is something they would go and see with there friends. Although our film '100 Days of Misery' contains girls bullying another girl, I think this target audience will enjoy this as it has a great twist which will sent shivers up there spine and also make them kind of laugh. Especially becasue this teenager enjoys other horror films like 'The Crazies, Case-39 etc..' He also enjoys going to the cinema to see all the latest realises on new horror films as he is crazy and loves horr films alot. So I think that he would enjoy going to watch are horror film as it has a fantastic twist to it like this girl turning completely evil and getting revenage on her bullies. Also becasue there would be later on a lot of violence and a lot of blood the viewer will enjoy this because as he is a massive fan of horror which always includes blood and violence a lot it would find it really inteserting and exciting but also a bit nasty. I think he would also enjoy are film because usually in horror film most of the nasty action happens at night, well in our film the viewer should be ready for any type of reverage to also happen in the daylight, as on purpose we have made the reverage happen in daylight to make the viewer scared throughtout the film.

The way we used Google in our work was to research information on films that were like ours in order to blog them on our blogger, we also used it to find different websites where we could get different types of sounds from but to make sure that it wasn't copyright.


The way we used Free Sound was to take different types of sounds and add them to our editing process, in order for the film to flow better and sound more realistic. It also helped us to have some really good dramatic sound effects as it had a lot of sounds, ranging from sad, lonely music to evil scary sounds.


The way we used Yahoo is to receive e-mails about new sounds and to also open our account. The use of blogger helped us to update all our feedback from class discussions and also to maybe even advertise are film as we has to added detail on it.


The way we used You Tube was to see different opening sequences, so we had some kind of idea to put are things like for example the titles.

We also used cameras and a tripod when recording, as we needed the camera's to actually make are film and we use tripods to make sure the camera was steady and so that the film came out more professional then just holding it.

We also used Adobe premiere pro, we used this in order to do put are film together and add sound effects and different types of transitions in order to make the opening of our film what it is today.

Overall, i have learnt that these technologies have helped a lot in the process of our film as we were able to get research about films like ours, also from the sounds website we found some interesting sounds that help make our film.

Our Main Character represents the social group of a school girl who gets bullied by her peers. The traits for this social group is the person is always my themselves, they keep themselves to themselves, they have there head down so they are not noticed. They act very paranoid, as they are scared something might happen to them. The way this social group will dress would be baggy jumpers to hide behind, there hair would be down so that people cannot see them. In this case as our main character is a school girl she has her uniform on and her skirt is quite long, with her hair down so that she isn't notice, by the bullies.

The way all these traits are shown in our character is because in this image she is alone and looks isolated, she has her head down to show that she is quite scared and doesn't want to be notice by anyone. Her bag is on her back which makes her look like a typical geeky school girl.

The similarity between the main character in our film and the mian character 'Carrie' from the 1976 film, is that both girls represent the social group of outcasts school girls, that are bullied by there peers. Both characters also are quite alone and isolated from the crowd, they also just want to be left alone.

Frame 1:

The reason why I have chosen this first frame is because it shows the audience the establishing shot of our film, so they have some kind of idea where abouts are film is set. Also i like the way it has been shot because it is like a tilted shot of the school. Our Film 100 Days Of Misery is set in the school so this shot is a good opening for it. Like the film " Carrie" (1976 horror film) this shows a teenage outcast girl just like are character, although are girl hasn't yet been able to perform a lot of revenage on her enemy we finish with her starting with the first victim, so therefore the main character in Carrie is kind of similar to our main character. 

Frame 2:

The reason why I have chosen this second frame is because we have edited to make us feel like we are seeing through the eyes of our main evil character, with the use of a blur transcation. Our Film is quite similar to the latest 2010 ' The Final', although it is a group of outcast high school children that get revenge of the kids who torment them, our character also plays a role like this and in this frame she is seen to be getting revenge of one of her victims.

Frame 3:

The reason why I have chosen this third fram is because it shows might of our main characters bullying to be in the class room, so viewers understand that she is a school child and that she gets bullied most of the time in lesson ore in this case detention. I chose this shot because I like the idea of the bullies being in the frame because she stands out and looks quite isolated. Like the 2005 film 'Tamara', which is basically about a girl who is picked on my her peers and feels really isolated but after dying she comes back for revenge, our film is a bit like this becasue are character feels really isolated and get picked on by her peers, leaving her no choice but to get back at them.

Frame 4:

The reason why I have chosen this frame is because it we added the effect of it to be black and white to show how upset she is and how isolated she feels. Another reason why i chose this is because it shows some of the bullying in process like her getting thrown a paper at her with writing and how she reacts to it.

Frame 5:

The reason why I have chosen this shot is because this shot, is suppose to be shot to make the audience wait in supsense to see what is going to be reveled in this character that has been bullied all this time, and it kind of adds a sense of excitement. A lot of horror films use this to make us feel scared of what will be reveled to us.

Frame 6:

The reason why I have chosen this shot is because this shot shows the main character starting to turn quite evil, as finally she says her first lines in the film. Like 1976 film 'Carrie' the main character also when turing evil you see a change in her, just like in our main character.

Frame 7:

The reason why I have chosen this shot is because it shows the main character to have kind of gone mad and angry that these girls wont leave her alone, and she is now start to switch on her because all she wants is a quite life and they just keep tormenting her.

Frame 8:

The reason why I have chosen this shot is because it is the main title and that is want are film is all about, all these girls that have tormented this main character will all suffer within a 100 Days and none of them will get away with it. This title is a bit like the brand new horror film '127 Hours' because this man suffers more then 5 days and in the end he has to cut off his arm, although this story isn't about school children it is a bit like what is going to happen to the characters because they will suffer more just like this man in this new film.

The reason why I have chosen this shot is because at last it shows the character to have turned evil and is no longer going to take all the torment from these girls.
